heart, be still

there are too many similarities
between you and him.
so much so that it kinda
scares me.

and as much as my heart feels
there might be something,
but i can't help but decide that
i have to thread the water
really carefully. and perhaps,
if there is a need,
to close it up, and
pretend that it was not moved.

i don't think my heart can take another letdown.
